Kenyan President William Ruto has announced new Cabinet appointments, reintroducing several former leaders into government roles.
In an official statement issued by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been selected as the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy.
Kabogo will replace Dr. Margaret Nyambura, who has been appointed as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.
Mutahi Kagwe, who previously served as Health Cabinet Secretary under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, has been nominated to head the Agriculture Ministry.
Kagwe succeeds Dr. Andrew Karanja, who has been posted as Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil.
Additionally, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been chosen to oversee the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry.
He takes over the docket from Salim Mvurya, who has been reassigned to lead the Sports Ministry.
This move follows Kipchumba Murkomen’s transfer to the Interior Ministry as Cabinet Secretary.
These appointments reflect President Ruto’s effort to reshape his Cabinet as the administration focuses on implementing key development priorities.
