Jigawa Governor Suspends Commissioner Arrested With Housewife In Uncompleted Building

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has suspended the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, following his arrest by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
Sankara was allegedly caught with a married woman in an uncompleted building, sparking controversy and public outcry.
The Director General of Kano State Hisbah Board, Dr. Abba Sufi, confirmed the incident, which took place on Friday evening.
Hisbah, an Islamic law enforcement agency, arrested the commissioner alongside the woman, raising concerns about possible moral violations.
Sankara has since denied the allegations, issuing a statement Friday night in which he described the accusations as “false, baseless, and malicious.” He claimed that the incident was a deliberate attempt to smear his reputation.
In response, the Jigawa State government issued a statement through Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, on Saturday.
The statement announced Sankara’s suspension, stressing the need for a thorough investigation to maintain transparency and uphold the integrity of the state administration. The government emphasised that the suspension would allow a fair inquiry into the matter.
