BREAKING: Tinubu Confers Posthumous National Honour on Late COAS Lagbaja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honored the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, with a posthumous award of the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR).
The announcement was made during the burial ceremony of the late military leader, held on Friday in Abuja.
In his speech, Tinubu commended Lagbaja’s dedication to the Nigerian Army and his unwavering service to the nation, describing him as “a patriot who sacrificed his all for Nigeria’s unity and security.”
The posthumous award, one of Nigeria’s highest honors, recognizes the exceptional contributions of the late General, who served as the 23rd Chief of Army Staff. Lagbaja’s tenure was marked by strategic reforms aimed at combating insecurity and improving the welfare of troops.
The solemn ceremony was attended by senior government officials, military top brass, and family members of the late Army Chief, who passed away earlier this week. The event highlighted his legacy and the indelible impact he made on the nation’s military architecture.
