South Africa – Suspect Confesses To Killing 27-Year-Old South African Woman

One Quinton Jacobs has turned himself in to the South African Police Service (SAPS), confessing to have murdered Melanie Stoffels, who died on 7th August 2024.
The body of the 27-year-old Stoffels was discovered after being brutally attacked by an unknown assailant.
She was struck with a hammer and her lifeless body was then thrown over a bridge.
However, in a statement issued by Jacobs to the police authorities, he claimed to have been hired by Melanie’s ex-girlfriend, with whom she had previously lived in Heideveld.
According to him, he was paid R500 to carry out the killing.
It is also gathered that the police are on the hunt for the ex-lover, who has reportedly disappeared following the crime.
This shocking incident has left the community of Gugulethu where the murder occurred in a state of grief and anger, as the search for justice continues.
