Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi has attributed the recent fuel shortages in Kenya to technical and administrative challenges within the supply chain.
The Energy Cabinet Secretary said the hitch temporarily limited uptake of petroleum products by some oil marketing companies, leading to shortages at several filling stations.
“Fuel restocking in various filling stations is underway, and normal supply across the country will be attained by the end of the day today,” he said.
Wandayi assured Kenyans that the country has adequate fuel stocks and there is no cause for alarm.
The disruption comes amid global supply pressures linked to tensions in the Middle East, which have pushed up fuel prices, with super petrol landing at Ksh 107 per litre, diesel at Ksh 133, and kerosene a
t Ksh 170.
