Nigeria – President Tinubu Appoints Ojukaye Amachree As Director of Energy Security

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
This was announced in a statement released by Zakari Mijinyawa, ONSA’s Head of Strategic Communications, on Monday.
The newly created Energy Security Directorate within ONSA is tasked with handling policy coordination, infrastructure protection strategies, data management, security measures, risk advisory, and fostering strategic alliances in the energy sector.
The appointment is part of the federal government’s efforts to ensure a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply for Nigerians.
In his new role, Amachree will oversee key national energy security initiatives and work towards strengthening community involvement in protecting Nigeria’s energy resources. The directorate will focus on addressing both short-term and long-term energy sustainability challenges.
The statement further highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing energy security and resilience while addressing supply chain concerns.
Amachree will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government ministries, security agencies, regulators in the energy sector, international partners, and community leaders, to develop innovative solutions to Nigeria’s energy challenges.
Hon. Ojukaye Amachree, a graduate of Management and an alumnus of Lagos Business School, brings a wealth of experience to his new position.
The National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, congratulated him on the appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to help secure Nigeria’s energy future.
