NIGERIA: ADC Candidate Dr Moses Paul Rejects AMAC Election Results, Condemns Irregularities, Violence

Dr Moses Paul the African Democratic Congress candidate in the Abuja Municipal Area Council chairmanship election held on Saturday has rejected the outcome announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission describing it as unreflective of the true will of the people.
In a strongly worded statement to the press on Monday in Abuja Dr Paul accused INEC of disregarding the sensibilities of Nigerians and condemned what he termed widespread irregularities that marred the process.
He maintained that the overwhelming support and spirit of the ADC movement across communities from Karshi to Wuse Nyanya to Gui demonstrated that the party had earned the mandate of AMAC residents.
The ADC candidate highlighted several alleged malpractices including the imposition of a curfew that restricted movement intimidation and attacks on ADC members by security agencies massive vote buying in several wards voter suppression due to late arrival of election materials in key polling units such as Kabusa and alteration as well as mutilation of polling unit results.
He specifically mourned the death of Musa Abubakar at the Gwagwa polling unit who reportedly lost his life while attempting to protect his vote.
Dr Paul revealed that he had visited the deceased’s family and committed to placing his children on scholarship as a tribute to Abubakar’s sacrifice while calling on relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and deliver justice.
Despite the rejection of the results Dr Paul expressed profound gratitude to the youths women elders volunteers and supporters who mobilised tirelessly endured intimidation and stood firm for the ADC cause.
He described the movement as one built on conviction sacrifice and truth rather than convenience or power emphasising that the sacrifices made had already altered the moral landscape of AMAC.
The candidate affirmed that the struggle would continue beyond this election declaring it the beginning of a permanent awakening that would eventually lead to a renewed AMAC and a transformed Nigeria.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to the people pledging to remain accountable and one of them while invoking divine blessings on AMAC and the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.
